Our fabric was designed to soothe littles ones and help regulate their temperature to keep them safe and comfortable. Throughout the years, we’ve built a tight-knit community of parents and caregivers who have inspired many of our collections through their feedback and experiences. Kyte Intimates is crafted from a brand new, proprietary fabric blend of chitosan (KY-to-san) and bamboo rayon. Chitosan is an antimicrobial material derived from chitin, which is an abundant and natural biopolymer extracted from shells. Because of its strong antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties, chitosan is gaining popularity in medicine and biomedicine. We blended chitosan fibers with bamboo rayon to create a unique and innovative material that’s exclusive to Kyte Intimates. Incredibly soft with a barely-there feel, this custom-milled fabric is perfect for hypersensitive skin. It’s smooth, breathable, and specifically tailored to accommodate your changing body.
During pregnancy, hormones cause your breasts to grow as early as weeks 6-8, and feel extra tender and hypersensitive. Although every person is different, many women have trouble tolerating their regular bras as their pregnancy progresses. Once your milk comes in after birth, these pre-pregnancy bras can feel tight and uncomfortable. La Leche League International recommends avoiding bras with under-wiring or other firm structure in those early months, as they “can contribute to blocked ducts and even mastitis.” Maternity bras, which are softer, stretchier, and more pliable, are recommended for frequent wear during the first few weeks of breastfeeding, as they can provide much-needed comfort and support.
