Does Kyte Baby Donate Anywhere?

‘Tis the season for giving, and it’s, without a doubt, our favorite part about the holidays. As the year draws to a close, we take this time for reflection and look for ways to give back to our communities. To say that the past few years have been hard on everyone would be a huge understatement. The pandemic has caused global devastation in more ways than one. With lives lost, businesses permanently closed, and mental health suffering all-time lows, it’s more important than ever to count our blessings and help those who’ve been less fortunate. Here at Kyte BABY, we know that everything we do is made possible by you. Regardless of all our varying backgrounds, we all have the same goal: to love and raise our children well. Thanks to parents like you, we’re able to do what we love most every single day, and we never lose sight of that gratitude. We rely on your feedback and loyalty to create products that your babies truly love, and we’re so proud of the relationship we’ve built with our customers. One of the ways we try to express our gratitude toward our community is by giving back through donation.

Each month, Kyte BABY chooses a different organization to donate to. Because September was both Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, as well as NICU Awareness Month, we made a donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities. RMHC provides invaluable support to parents of children who need ongoing hospital treatment, so we knew it was the right choice for that month. You can read our blog post on RMHC here. In October, we wanted to honor bereaved parents in light of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, so we chose First Candle as our charity of the month. We wrote about the organization and its efforts in ending Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), which you can read here. You may or may not have known that last month was Prematurity Awareness Month, which is why we made a donation to March of Dimes as our November charity. To read more about March of Dimes and preterm labor, you can check out our blog post here. The organizations we donate to are chosen with careful consideration. There are many great organizations that provide crucial services and support to families in need, and we are so grateful to be able to make these donations that are so necessary.

Every parent wants to give their child the world. While Christmas is a favorite time of year for many, the holidays aren’t magical for everyone. Many families struggle just to make ends meet, making Christmas gifts an extravagance that aren’t always affordable. For these families, it isn’t only financially difficult, but emotionally, too. We know that every child deserves something special, and that’s why we chose to donate to Toys for Tots for our December charity. Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corp Reserve and its mission statement reads: “The basic mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas.” Parents and friends can nominate themselves or a family in need, and Toys for Tots may be able to provide toys for that family.

In this past year, the Marine Toys for Tots Program collected and distributed 19 million toys to 7.3 million children. Not only is that an incredible message of hope for these very deserving families, it’s the kind of feel-good news we all needed during this global crisis. This community action program took place all over the nation, in all 50 states and in over 800 communities. Toys for Tots also has a literacy program that distributes an average of 1.5 million books a year. It’s an indisputable fact that children in low-income families face many barriers to success. Something as simple as not having access to age-appropriate books in their homes can impede their ability to learn, which can lead to social, emotional, and behavioral problems. The Toys for Tots website reads, “Researchers have found that in low-income neighborhoods, the availability of books per child is somewhere around 1 book per 300 children.” By providing books to these economically-disadvantaged families, Toys for Tots gives these children a better chance at academic success and serves as an important tool in breaking the cycle of poverty. With the help of generous donors and sponsors, the Toys for Tots Literacy Program has distributed nearly 42 million books to children across the nation.
